Urgent Needs

Mariam needs a sponsor (16426)

Mariam is from Menofia and although she is enrolled in our program she remains unsponsored. Though Mariam receives the mentoring and love that all our kids receive, it would truly be a blessing if she could have the additional support of a loving sponsor. Though we cannot reveal identifying information about Mariam and her family at this time, whoever chooses to sponsor Mariam will be contacted by a staff member and oriented on her case. If you will consider this urgent request to support Mariam in Egypt, offering her prayers, encouragement, and love, you can give her hope that will last a lifetime.

Please make Mariam part of your family, and help unlock her God-given potential. $60 a month (or more should you wish) can help transform her life and change her world. Mariam will continue to receive regular visits by a specially trained Church-based volunteer who serves as her personal mentor and advocate. Through this volunteer, Mariam gains access to literacy tutoring and life-skills workshops, and to basic rights like food, clothing, shelter, school supplies, and anything else she needs to succeed in her studies. The support your love provides will serve the cause of improving Mariam’s education, bringing out her strengths and talents, and equipping her to break the cycle of poverty. Sponsor Mariam by setting up a recurring donation here.

Mina's family needs a new apartment (776)

Mina's father was only educated through middle school and worked in a patisserie. He suffered from respiratory tract diseases and died in 2010, leaving behind his wife and three sons. Mina's mother receives 400EGP for the monthly widow's pension. Mina's family lives in a rented apartment that costs 25EGP per month and is in terrible condition. It consists of two rooms, a reception area, a kitchen, and a bathroom. It is supplied with public utilities and has two beds, a wardrobe, a washing machine, a fridge, a gas stove, and a TV set. However, the wastewater of the building collects in the family's bathroom and any blockage in the sewage connections in the street causes leakage into the apartment. The kitchen is very narrow, there is no hall, and the concrete of the ceiling is collapsed. Because the sons serve in the church, they can’t accept any help from it. Mina's family would like to buy a new apartment to live in. This will cost them $815. Mina's family needs a generous donor to cover this cost. Donate to Mina. Please include the case number with your donation.

Although Yasmine's family lived comfortably while her father was alive, her mother has had to sell all her gold and the television set to make ends meet. She even had to borrow money and talk to Christian TV shows to help her build the ceiling, but she still hasn't been able to repay her debts. Although their apartment is concreted, the walls are not painted and their stove is broken. They would like to paint the walls and buy a new stove, which will cost $790.
