Restoration of Nora's Home
Nadia, Nora’s sponsor provided
$100 to improve their home. Nora and her family used
to live in two rooms on the second floor which were
about to collapse.
With the
donation, the first floor was renovated from mud brick
walls to cemented painted walls. The floor was also
leveled and covered in cement, a great improvement
from the dirt floor. The family moved into the newly
renovated rooms. “The family is so grateful to
Nadia for caring about them” Morcos Rizk,
Rep for Nora.

A Great Improvement
I was very excited when I read the latest
monthly report from Egypt. One of the families I visited
with Nadia during the summer was particularly worrying.
Both the children and the mother seemed
indifferent to the importance of a good education.
Among other things, the mother’s two daughters
are completely illiterate. They are both of an age
that would, under normal circumstances, have them in
school. The rep explained that she had repeatedly enlightened
the mother to the importance of her daughters being
educated. Every time the mother would promise to send
them to illiteracy classes and every time the rep returned
there would be no progress on the matter, the last
time being during our visit.
According to the report, however, the mother
has finally made an effort and not only have the girls
started classes, but they made their first steps in
reading and writing with the help of their older brother
who is a part of our service. The girls will soon be
eligible to join Coptic Orphans. Thanks to the persistence
of the rep, these girls now have a much brighter future.
May God bless and reward all our reps for all their
selfless, hard work on behalf of the children.
