Serve to Learn - Requirements

Thank you for your interest in Coptic Orphans’ Serve to Learn program to Egypt. In order to allow you to make a fully informed decision to serve with us, we please review this list of expectations for volunteers.

To apply:

Fill out an application form

Write two essays

Request one recommendation letter

Pay the application fee

Before your service (if you are accepted):

Complete forms with personal information.

Secure a visa to Egypt.

Submit a photocopy of your passport

Receive necessary vaccinations.

Arrange for transportation to Egypt.

Pay the program fee

Complete assignments which will prepare you for your service, and educate you.

Prepare spiritually for service to God’s children.

During your service:

Attend a one day orientation

Carry yourself in a culturally appropriate manner.

Maintain a journal, and take pictures of your experience.

Spend long days teaching, and visiting with students.

After your service:

Attend a debriefing session in Cairo and fill out an evaluation form

Submit journals and photos.

Share your experience with friends, family and others.

Throughout your service:

Be flexible and open to learning something new.
