How
Your Sponsorship Equips Children through the Not Alone program
Children
who have lost a father in Egypt face many injustices. Children as young
as 10 years old can become bread-winners for their families. They often
face illiteracy, malnutrition, and a future without hope of breaking
out of poverty.
Sponsors
often wonder how small monthly contributions can do so much for children
and communities in light of these many obstacles in Egypt.
Just was we can accomplish a lot more in a team than on our own, sponsorship
dollars when pooled together can address the root causes, not merely
the symptoms, of poverty in families and communities.
An
example:
instead of paying for expensive medicine to cure easily-preventable
anemia one child at a time, we can have a workshop that will show many
mothers how to prepare nutritious meals and prevent their entire families
from acquiring anemia in the first place.
Because
of your sponsorship, your sponsored child and other Not Alone children
will develop their potential with the following benefits of this critical
program:
Regular home visits, during which a Rep provides encouragement and
mentorship while assessing individual child and
family needs such as literacy, housing, health, nutrition, or community
advocacy;
Enrichment Trips that open a child’s vision and draw out their curiosity;
Workshops that encourage life-skills like reading, goal setting, and
critical thinking;
Awareness seminars on good hygene and harmful traditional practices
such as child marriage and female genital mutilation/cutting;
Training for the child’s Rep so he or she can better equip the child.
