Coptic Orphans enjoys the spiritual support
and encouragement of His Holiness Pope Shenouda III,
the Coptic patriarch of Alexandria.
August 14, 2003 was a very special day for the
staff of Coptic Orphans. His Holiness Pope Shenouda
III met with the staff during his visit to Washington
DC. He was particularly impressed with the photo of Mara, a child who can
now
read thanks to the hard work of
Coptic
Orphans in Egypt.
On August 21, 2002, Coptic Orphans
met Pope Shenouda for the first time, at His residency
in Cedar Grove, NJ. His Holiness gave Coptic Orphans
his blessings and spoke to us about how we are “saving
God’s children.” He added, “we appreciate
very much what you are doing. Such persons are in great
need.” In quoting the midnight praises, H.H.
commended Coptic Orphans because we “remember
those who have no one to remember them”.
