August 17-26, 2012: Better Life Benefit Concerts (United States and Canada)

At five worship concerts throughout North America, the Better Life team led more than 5,000 in praise and worship. 368 orphaned children in Egypt found sponsors among those who attended.

April 23, 2012: Coptic Orphans Responds to Egypt Government Statement

Although Coptic Orphans has not received any notification from the Egyptian government, Al Masry Al Youm reported today that the Ministry of Social Solidarity denied eight applications for international NGO registration, including the application that Coptic Orphans submitted in 2005. February 25th and 26th: Blessed Be Egypt Dinner, California (United States)

The highlight of the evening was a poem that a 16-year old girl in Egypt composed about the difficulties there. Twenty children got sponsored, and the efforts of volunteers and donors who contributed from their own difficulties had a profound impact on many more of Egypt's children.

November 8, 2011 - January 13, 2012 : Coptic Diaspora Survey (Worldwide)

Be a part of the landmark study that will help make Copts more visible in religious, academic, and political discussions involving Egypt and the Middle East. George Washington University in conjunction with Coptic Orphans is conducting the first large scale study of Copts living outside of Egypt.

June 11, 2011: Presbyterian Women, Synod of the MidAtlantic (United States)

Coptic Orphans Executive Director Nermien Riad attended the Synod of the Mid-Atlantic Presbyterian Women Convention.  She spoke  at the panel discussion entitled "Conversations with Middle Eastern Christian Women.” The conference was held at the Massanetta Springs Conference Center in Virginia.

June 1, 2011: Coptic Orphans children will receive free health insurance (Egypt)

Royal Care International the Egyptian based health insurance provider has renewed and increased their donation of free high-grade health care to 3,000 of our children for another full year in Egypt.

Coptic Orphans Executive Director Nermien Riad spoke at the 'Together for a new Egypt' forum at Georgetown University in Washington, DC.  Nermien discussed the immediate relief and humanitarian efforts non-profit organizations can give to Egypt during the crisis and beyond.

November 19, 2010: Nermien Riad spoke at the ARNOVA conference (United States)

Coptic Orphans Executive Director Nermien Riad spoke at the conference for the Association for Research on Nonprofit Organizers and Voluntary Action (ARNOVA). The conference was called ‘Faith based Organizations in International Development: The State-of -the Dialogue on Comparative Advantages.’ During this conference Nermien gave insight on the perspective of a Faith based organization in the field.

June 1, 2010: Coptic Orphans children will receive free health insurance (Egypt)

May 10, 2010: Coptic Orphans Earns Highest Rating for Second Consecutive Time (United States)

Coptic Orphans has earned the second consecutive 4-star rating for sound fiscal management from Charity Navigator, America's premier charity evaluator. "Only 21% of the charities [rated] have received at least 2 consecutive 4-star evaluations, indicating that Coptic Orphans consistently executes its mission in a fiscally responsible way, and outperforms most other charities in America. This "exceptional" designation from Charity Navigator differentiates Coptic Orphans from its peers and demonstrates to the public it is worthy of their trust.

June 9, 2009: Australian Volunteers Raise $9,500 for Health of Egyptian Children (Australia)

Close to 150 supporters attended the Coptic Orphans Black Tie Dinner on May 17th, 2009. The event, conceived and organized by a team of dedicated Australian volunteers, raised $9500 which will go towards the purchase of school supplies, hygiene products for the Rise and Shine Australian initiative and gifts for the children they will serve in Egypt.

May 15, 2009: Coptic Charities Conference (United States)

Coptic bishops emphasized the need for Coptic organizations to cooperate and align their efforts so that the poor of Egypt will receive more than mere cash flow, but real improvements that will help them become self-sufficient. The bishops joined representatives of four other sectors, including academic, government, and NGO's for the first time to talk about the potential of the Coptic Diaspora to impact Egypt. April 11, 2009: Coptic Business Puts Easter Dinner on Egypt Tables with Grocery-Bagging Fundraiser (Canada)

February 22, 2009: Coptic Bishops, NGO: Egypt Needs Approach to Poverty that Gives Dignity, Avoids Shame (Canada)

At a Pre-Lent "rafaa" fundraising dinner for Coptic Orphans at the Casa Grecque/Olympia restaurant reception hall in Montreal on February 22, members of the local Coptic community listened to bishops from Egypt and other community leaders emphasize the need for a new approach to the problem of child poverty in Egypt that will avoid causing shame.
