2010

 Coptic Orphans recieved a thank you letter from President Barack Obama for our hard work and dedication.

Charity Navigator gives Coptic Orphans a second consecutive 4-star rating, (earned by only 21% of the highest rated charities) and ranks Coptic orphans more highly than 90% of other 4-star charities in the international class.

2009

 Charity Navigator, America's Largest Independent Evaluator of Nonprofits, reviews and rates Coptic Orphans at 68.73, one of the highest overall ratings a four-star charity can receive.

2008

The Rev. Hon. Dr. Gordon Moyes, Australian Parlimentarian, and U.S. Vice President Dick Cheney send letters congratulating Coptic Orphans on our 20th Anniversary.(2008)

2007

Acacia Federal Savings Bank nominates Coptic Orphans for their “Nice Guys Award", which recognizes organizations who best model philanthropic values.(2007)

Dr. Jennifer Brinkerhoff, Professor of Public Administration and International Affairs at George Washington University, Features Coptic Orphans as a "model" of diaspora-based development efforts in a peer reviewed journal article.

2006

Coptic Orphans chosen to be featured in the Catalogue for Philanthropy.

2005

The United Nations Association of the National Capital Area Awards executive director Nermien Riad the Community Human Rights Award for the work of Coptic Orphans.

Coptic Orphans awarded as a runner up in the NPower Technology Innovation Award sponsored by Accenture. 

Coptic Orphans Awarded Honorable Mention in the Washington Post Award for Excellence in Nonprofit Management. With the honorable mention comes a grant for $2,500 to be used for organizational capacity building in our Washington DC office. 

2003

Coptic Orphans Honored by the The Coptic Orthodox Fellowship of Rutgers University at the Raising Orphanage Support (ROSE) dinner.

Vice President Dick Cheney attends Coptic Orphans Gala, meets Coptic Orphans executive director Nermien Riad.

2002

The Truman Award for Leadership and Innovation from the Society for International Development - Washington (SID-W) was awarded to the Program Manager Phoebe Farag, for her work on the Valuable Girl Project. Bob Berg of the Truman Foundation and Alina Zyskowski, executive director of SID-W presented the award at the "Development Works" conference.

Coptic Orphans was awarded the Spirit of Hope Award from The Children's Fund for our contribution of to the betterment of children.
